초록정보 내용
Objectives : This study examined the characteristics and determinants of outpatient utilization of Chuna Manual Therapy following its inclusion in the National Health Insurance coverage. Using the 2022 Korean Medicine Utilization Survey, the study also compared findings with 2017 and 2020 data to assess post-coverage utilization patterns. Methods : Data were obtained from the 2017, 2020, and 2022 Korean Medicine Utilization Surveys, nationally representative cross-sectional surveys of Korean adults who used outpatient Korean medicine services. Descriptive analyses were conducted to identify demographic and socioeconomic characteristics, utilization patterns, and satisfaction among Chuna Manual Therapy users. Determinants of Chuna Manual Therapy utilization were examined using multivariable logistic regression with the 2022 outpatient sample. Results : In 2022, Chuna Manual Therapy users were predominantly highly educated, middle-to-high income earners, and office or service workers, with an increasing proportion of male and older users compared with previous years. Satisfaction with treatment outcomes and costs remained high, while nearly half perceived Chuna Manual Therapy as costly. In the multivariable analysis, most sociodemographic variables were not significantly associated with Chuna Manual Therapy use; only clinic-level institutions showed lower odds of utilization compared with hospitals (OR 0.51, 95% CI: 0.34-0.78). Conclusions : Three years after National Health Insurance coverage, outpatient Chuna Manual Therapy utilization exhibited a relatively stabilized pattern, with limited sociodemographic disparities and a sustained concentration of use in clinic-based settings. Continued monitoring is needed to assess long-term changes in user composition, access, and cost perceptions.
